OUR STORY
A Pan-European network built on solidarity
The European LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association (Ella) is a Pan-European network of national LGBTQ+ lawyers associations, firms, and individuals advocating for equality and inclusion.
We connect lawyers, scholars, and law students to share expertise and strengthen LGBTQ+ rights through collaboration and research. Our network now spans more than 12 countries.
Ella was formed through a collaborative MOU signed by LGBTQ+ legal associations from the UK, Switzerland, Europe, Canada, and Australia, hosted by the EU Delegation to Canada. Our development has been supported by established organisations including the Prisme Conference, Lavender Law Conference, and InterLaw in the UK.

OUR AIMS
What we set out to do
Identify and connect national LGBTQ+ legal associations across Europe and the rest of the world.
Support and encourage the creation of new national associations where they do not yet exist, under a shared umbrella network.
Provide support to individual legal professionals seeking community, guidance, or a pathway into national networks.
Develop best-practice toolkits for emerging associations, partner firms, and organisations seeking to improve inclusion.
Collaborate, share resources, and strengthen cross-border cooperation among all members.
